The Vale Opticians is located in the charming North Yorkshire town of Boroughbridge and is run by Kate and David Long, a husband and wife team who have over thirty years’ optical experience between them.
We allow thirty minutes for each eye examination and all tests are carried out by a qualified optometrist in our spacious and fully equipped test room. We have invested in a high standard of equipment and therefore carry out retinal imaging (photograph of the back of the eye) as standard. This technology allows for year on year comparisons of eye health, greatly improving our ability to detect and monitor eye conditions. For total peace of mind you can now choose to have an OCT scan which allows us to look deeper into the structures of the eye enabling earlier diagnosis of sight threatening pathology than ever before possible.
And if you do need to wear glasses, you’ll find that we have a wide selection of frames – over 500 different frames in stock – with something for every taste and budget.
We predominantly use Zeiss, Nikon and Essilor spectacle lenses whose advanced optical technology and ground breaking coatings turn the optometrist’s findings into the widest, clearest vision available.
If you prefer to wear contact lenses, not only are we an Acuvue Centre of Excellence, we also offer the most popular, healthy and comfortable lenses on the market.
We are equally as focused on the eyecare and eyewear of children, as we are on that of adults.
