Meet the Team
David qualified as a dispensing optician in 2000 and went on to then qualify as an optometrist in 2003. He has a great deal of expertise in the industry and values integrity and a thorough approach to each client.
‘The best bit of my job is the relationships I’ve built up with clients over the years.’
When he’s not looking into your eyes he loves spending time with his family.
Judy has enormous experience in the optical industry, working in various roles across the country since 1991.
Following her move to Yorkshire Judy first met Kate and David Long in 2003, Whilst working together in Harrogate. She joined “The Vale Opticans” team in 2014 and her product and technical knowledge of Dispensing is an invaluable asset to both the practice and clients alike.
When not at work Judy likes to spend time with her daughter, friends, family and many pets. She can also be found listening to live music and out socialising… unless She’s walking the dogs!
Maxine is a highly organised person who runs our reception three days a week. Previously a client of ours for many years she has really enjoyed her transition into part of our team.
Maxines past history as a client has been invaluable in improving our customer experience.
As a contact lens wearer herself she can combine her technical training with personal experience to teach clients how to use and care for their contact lenses.
As a mother of 2, her spare time is spent with family and friends, swimming, horse riding and socialising.
Gill Joined “The Vale opticians” when it was acquired in 2010. She runs the reception on a Tuesday and Wednesday and very much enjoys communicating with clients both face to face and on the phone. Having lived in Boroughbridge for 23 years before moving to Harrogate Gill is a familiar face to most.
As well as her work in our opticians Gill works with young adults with visual impairment at Henshaws. Being very much a people person her favourite part of both rolls the client interaction.
In Gill’s spare time she enjoys walking with friends and family.
